16 or 5?

This is hilarious.

I'm working and I can hear a conversation between Jensy and Shawn. She is asking him if she can sleep downstairs and he's telling her no, because she's too cranky the next day, etc. So she says: (you can imagine her voice)

WELL... YOU are just RUINING my LIFE. and YOU are RUINING ME!...(and runs up to her room).

I said to Shawn, did you ever think at 5 Jensyn would be telling you you're ruining her life?

He thought maybe at 16.

oh boy.

Fun Tag...

20 years ago I . . .
1. Was 12. I was in 6th grade at Meadowbrook Elementary School in Mrs. Louie's class. I remember those 6th grade dances, they were so funny! I remember Whitney S.
2. Derek P. and I were on-again-off-again. Best friends Lisa, Sue and I were on the Jump Rope Team. (oh yeah, I can still do a triple-under! and a 360, ok. I can't do that.)
3. I was so nervous for 7th grade. I looked bad on my first day of school, I came across it the other day.

10 years ago I . . .
1. was 22. I just had my first baby, Jaxon. We found out about his heart and that he would have to have open heart surgery. I lost all my baby weight really fast, it's called stress-and-your-firstborn- having-life-threatening-surgery. Not a good diet.
2. I loved being a first-time mom and being able to work at home. We lived in Kaysville and loved it!

5 years ago I...
1. was 27 and just had my fourth baby, finally a girl! Jensyn June. She was my one and only C-section. I was on bed rest, then I got mastitis (twice) and made my mom take me to the ER (the first time) because I thought I was dying.
2. I had four kids in five years. This is what I like to call living in a "foggy-fog", as Dora would say. I thought I would never get my kids in school. There was a tunnel, but no light.
3. but I was excited to know that I was done having kids and that our family was complete!

1 year ago I . . .
1. was 31. I couldn't believe we had been in our house for a year!
2. I couldn't wait to get Jensyn in Kindergarten and couldn't believe this day had come! It went by so much faster than I thought.
3. I was excited for the Carmack's to move in!

So far this year I . . .
1. set many goals.
2. keep putting one of them off.
3. have had strep twice.

Yesterday I...
1. played cards with mom and sis, Heather, and had fun kicking their butts!
2. went to the Blue and Gold banquet for scouts.
3. was supposed to get the oil changed, but ran out of time.

Tomorrow I...
1. will get the oil changed.
2. will get my nails filled and trimmed, it's getting harder to type.
3. take my friend a birthday present and prepare for our primary sharing time!

In The Next Year I Shall...
1. Work on my goals.
2. Join the gym.
3. "Try a little harder to be a little better"-Gordon B. Hinckley.

Thanks Camille, that was fun! I now tag Heather (just kidding!, well if you want to), Emily and Laura and Kelly and Nancy!

Where's Waldo...

Can you spot the three kiddos in the balloons?
I got to decorate for the Blue and Gold Banquet tonight
so we had a car full of balloons!

We were bored waiting at the church for someone to come and open the door and I got this cute picture...
sweet Landon!
sweet Lincoln!
Today's 5
1. Balloons! Everyone smiles at you when you carry balloons around.
2. Blue and Gold Banquet, yummy chinese food.
3. Four kids running around the church for their "exercise" (they didn't learn that from me!)
4. Meeting someone new.
5. It's Friday!!!

Today's Five...

1. When one of my kids asks "Will you spill me some milk?" (instead of pour).
2. "The Pillars of the Earth", I'm really enjoying this book so far.
3. When a fever breaks. Lincoln and Jaxon are both home today with fevers, including me!
4. on-line book club. "The Tao of Pooh" is about happiness plain and simple. I like it so far, it's definitely different.
5. Cadburry mini-eggs. This is the best time of year when they start putting out the easter candy. These little nuggets of pleasure only come out once a year and you have to hurry and grab 'em before they are all gone. I made that mistake once. only once. You can cross-reference this with "a secret stash".

Are you all proud of me for elaborating?! Gimme some props!

Meatloaf

1. Meatloaf. I never liked it as a kid, but I love it now! Isn't it funny how our tastes change!
2. Night games. I was watching my boys outside playing football at dusk. It brought me back to 18 w. 900 n. for a minute.
3. Jim Carrey, Steve Carrell and Carol Burnett. They were on Oprah today. It was awesome!
4. instant messaging.
5. Red Box.

Friday Five...

1. late-overs
2. Bukoos! I've been wanting to read "The Pillars of the Earth" and I got it there for $7 bucks! (If any of you have read it, will you please let me know how you liked it, please, before I read the 973 pages?)
3. Survivor- Mary didn't even see it coming! loved it.
4. Pineapple orange smoothie at Taco Time. de-lish.
5. Naartjie.

Lollipops!

Lollipops...
2 cups sugar
2/3 C light corn syrup
3/4 C water
1 tsp. LorAnn Gourmet Flavoring
1/2 tsp food coloring

In a large saucepan, mix together sugar, corn syrup and water. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Bring mixture to a boil without stirring. When syrup temperature reaches 260F., add color. Do not stir; boiling action will incorporate color into syrup. Remove from heat at 300F or when drops of syrup form hard, brittle threads in cold water. After boiling action ceases, add flavoring and stir. USE CAUTION WHEN ADDING FALVORING TO AVOID RISING STEAM. Pour syrup into lightly oiled candy molds or onto greased cookie sheet and score to mark squares.

BTW:
Look at my cute Valentine from Shawn
(my favorite flowers)

"whew!"

so yesterday I dropped the kids off in the morning and I headed over to the craft store. I was driving along and then looked in my rear view mirror and sure enough, the flashing lights of a cop. My heart sank. I wasn't speeding, was I? No. So I pull over and he zooms past me, after the guy in front of me. Two people then pulled over and the lucky one in front, was safe as well. "Whew!" My hubby!

I got this from my friend Carly, to learn more about our hubbies!

What is his name? Shawn Larson
How long have you been together? 13 years.
Who eats more? Donuts: me. Cruise buffet: Shawn. j/k Shawn eats more.
Who said "I love you" first? He did.
Who is taller? He's 6 feet. I'm 5'6".
Who is smarter? (he's smarter at math)
Who does the laundry? It's about 70/30 for me. He's really good about doing laundry whenver I need help, just not putting it away.
Who does the dishes? I do, unless I ask him. He hates unloading the dishwasher, though. but, If I cook, he "cleans up".
Who sleeps on the right? We don't have certain sides, but most nights he does.
Who mows the lawn? Shawn. I've never mowed a lawn in my life.
Who cooks dinner? I do, unless I ask him.
Who drives when you are together? Mostly Mr. UPS, but sometimes me when he's done driving for the day ;)
Who is more stubborn? me.
Who kissed who first? Shawn kissed me and it was the best first kiss I've ever had. I call it our "hollywood kiss", and I actually made him try to recreate it once. it didn't work. But seriously it could have been straight out of a movie!
Who asked who out first? He did after prodding by both of our mothers, probably just to get them off his back!
Who proposed? He did, but he told me he was going to.
Who has more siblings? We both have two sisters and one brother!

Put it this way: I'm lucky and he puts up with a lot! I love you, babe.

My Five:
1. Pineapple. Did you know it takes 2 years to grow? That's why it's so expensive. I learned that from Lincoln today.
2. Miracles.
3. dollar movies.
4. bedtime.
5. my hubby!

He went to one of the houses next door (full of girls) and asked if they had any boys and what were their ages. The dad replied that they only had girls and would he like to have a girl for a friend? and Jaxon stated: "No, I'm just looking for boys"!
I wanted to remember that. That's Jaxon for ya.
