coming up for air...

busy, busy, busy with baseball
blah, blah, blah!

Saturday game update:
Landon: Lost in overtime.
Lincoln: Won!
Landon: Lost.
Lincoln: Won!

Lincoln also won his Friday night game!
If he wins his game tomorrow he goes to the tournament!

Landon plays today. Both boys play tomorrow!
And that's as far ahead as I can look right now!

Just enough time for FIVE:
1. Heather's kids overnight! We had so much fun with the cousins! Can't wait to do it again!
2. a brown little girl that soaks up the sun!
3. dirty baseball uniforms, necessary to soak, and coming clean!
4. fourth base! hee, hee. (a little shout out to my mom!)
5. late night on the tramp, and pointing out the North star and big dipper!

Don't be jealous...

So Lincoln had his first All Star game tonight.
13-2. (for us!)
The team looks so sharp!
Everyone did great.
My favorite part is that Lincoln HAS to wear his pants high above his socks.
It's the cutest thing ever.
I think he loves the old fashioned look, like a tribue to babe Ruth or something,
but it's so dang cute.
And that way we can always tell where he is, because of course, he's the only one!
He definitely has his own style!

So the part I don't want you to be jealous about
is that
tomorrow we have two double headers!
Yes:
1 p.m.
3 p.m.
5 p.m.
7 p.m.

Good news: They are all at the same location.
Bad news: It's supposed to reach a scorching 100 degrees!

Jealous?

Friday Five:
1. Fun coaches.
2. When Lincoln looks at me from wherever he is on the field to make sure I'm watching him and waves at me. It melts me.
3. A HUGE bag, like we're talking my HUGE Chery Hill bag full of treats for tomorrow!
4. A squirt-bottle/fan/mister for tomorrow. (Shawn laughed at me). We'll see how funny it is tomorrow!
5. I don't have to miss anyone's game!

My next installment of things I thought I'd never say:

"Did you seriously pee in that?!"

"We DO NOT hit people with a golf club!"

"Girls can't stand and pee like boys because it would dribble down our legs."

My Five:
1. A big shade umbrella.
2. Fig noutons. (Thanks Candita).
3. slush.
4. Steve Carrell.
5. Lincoln all dressed up as an All Star:

HOBOS

Lately my kids are fascinated with hobos.
They ask me 20,000 questions about them.
They want to know everything from if they have a car
to why they don't go get a job.

Jaxon mentioned that when he turns 16
he will help them get jobs
and buy them a house,
or an apartment.
sweet Jaxon.
Entrepeneur at heart.

I think this all started
because they saw lots of homeless people
via the Bees game last night.
They are very concerned.
Are they worried we will end up on the street?
Do I tell them we can't afford stuff too much?

Speaking of the Bees game.
I scored them 4 tickets 4 rows behind the dugout!
My sweet friend from baseball, Tammy, gave us them for free!
Thanks Tam!
They had a ball, (no pun intended).
But I forgot to give them the camera :(

Tuesday Five...
1. Free tickets! What a sweet treat. BTW Jensy and I went to mom and dad's for ping pong and then we came home and made paper dolls. Her new obsession! I quite enjoyed myself!
2. Having a roof over our head.
3. Paper dolls. My grandma always used to make them with me. I feel like I'm passing something down from her to my daughter. Love you Grandma W. miss you.
4. Ping pong! What a fun thing for my mom to have! We had so much fun! Grandma beat me, two out of three. I've got to get in some PPP (ping-pong-practice)!
5. Cherry Hill. We are getting a lot of use out of our passes. I'm so glad the kids got them for their birthdays! Thanks Grandmas! It's a great way for us to beat the heat!

broken teeth?

At church today
the little girl we were sitting by
leaned over and shouted to her mom:

"LOOK at LINCOLN...his TEETH are BROKEN!"

too cute! He has three missing teeth, hence the toothless grin!

My Five:
1. cracking up in church.
2. the perspective of a child.
3. central air- (I'm not rubbing it in, Heather).
4. a new trinket, made by my own hands!
5. a new trinket, made by my friend!

this is my new trinket (watchband),
kind of hard to tell,
and cuter in person!

First Kiss question...

(Landon) Mom, when was you and dad's first kiss?

(Jaxon) Landon, when they were first married.

yeah, right.

Shawn has been telling the boys
they can't kiss girls
until they're married.
He's one to talk!

I just had to laugh at Jaxon.
He's so trusting and believing.

Five:
1. a work-free summer!
2. lemonade stands.
3. snow cones.
4. going barefoot.
5. eating watermelon outside.

elephent in the blog?

Is it like the elephent in the room on my blog now?
No, it's just BlogHer ad network!
Most of you know that I quit my job...
so every little bit helps, right?! Right.

We are full on into summer now.
I feel like I'm running around in circles
with places to be and things to do.
I knew this summer would be crazy
and here I am in the middle of it now!

Thursday Five...

1. "Cucinas" with two great gals. It was a nice break in the day for me! Thanks ladies! I just heart the avenues.
2. Easing into our summer schedule.
3. N. princess telling me I'm not the boss of her.

candy cane

My dear friend, since I was 12 years old, Candy, (a.k.a. candy cane, candle, candida)
invited us to her neighborhood pool today to swim! I can always count on having a ball, and laughing like I was still 12 years old with Candy! Thanks for the fun!

This is diva girl after I told her to go get some shoes on...and the boys fighting for the spotlight

this is us trying to get a picture...
Jaxon wanted me to take a picture of him looking like a shark?...
and this is the lot...TJ, Jax, Linc, Land, Lyssie and Jensy!

This is what Summer is all about!
Wednesday Five...
1. Soaking up the sun and relaxing with a childhood friend.
2. "The day we thought would never come" with our kids!
3. PB and Js by the pool.
4. Losing our b-ball game tonight. It's character building!
5. Singing "Surfin' USA" in the car ride home, and our poor neighbors we brought along thinking we were crazy... and they're right!

WARNING: This contains mush.

For my Dad...

Something quite profound hit me on Father's Day this year. I've watched over the years how wonderfully my dad treats my mom. He holds her high on this pedistal and quietly sits below and guards her and protects her and loves her. I realized that more than it is about how he treats her, it is about him showing us (his three girls) the way we should be treated.

Lucky for me, I am treated this very same way (except the quiet part).

For Shawn...

You are my rock. I lean on you for many things...at times, too many things. You are always thinking of ways to help me, to make my life easier. You prove day in and day out that you would do anything for me. Thank you.

I love you.

p.s. What they say is true: I'm always a day (or two) late and a dollar (or two) short!

Let's just say THE BOX WON!

Shawn got into it with a box at work...
You should see the box...
not a scratch!
For this next picture, let's just say the scooter won...(it looks worse in real life)...it's a fat lip.

and this is what the kids have been doing to pass time...while it rains!

Daily Five...
1. Summer wounds. I can vividly remember stubbing my toes in the summer and how bad it hurt, I NEVER wore shoes. I guess I can't get mad at them!
2. A fat lip. It's better than landing off your bike onto your head and getting a concussion. Remember Lincoln last summer?!
3. Making houses with cards, I love to do it, too! The life lesson is you have to be patient. I was listening to them get frustrated and the cards come tumbling down...and then the tears.
4. Famous Daves. One of my all-time favorites! Those little corn muffins...
5. Ahhhh...Summer!

rain or shine!

so it's another rainy day and my kids are a little obsessed!
They eat, drink and sleep baseball!
They are a little worried about the rain, though. They REALLY want to go to Cherry Hill.
Jaxon asked me-'What if it never stops raining?' and I promised him it would. Now I need someone to promise me!

I guess while they're busy, I'll go snuggle up and finish my book!
rain, rain go away...
p.s. If you're wondering where Jensyn is, she's resorted to the garage, playing dolls with friends. Whatever works!
