Chronicles of California vol.4

"WICKED"
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
SEPTEMBER 18, 2008

This day happened to be our 13th anniversary! We celebrated at the Cheesecake Factory and then we went and saw Wicked. Let me just say, it was Wicked awesome! I absolutely LOVED it! We had such a great day!
Another day we were able to go see Shawn's brother Scott and his family at their home in San Diego. This is a picture of Jens by their pool that I liked a lot...
and one with her daddy...

Enough already! (I know) This is the end of my postings about our trip. We just had so much fun and it was a long time coming!
the end.

there's no place like home...

and we are HOME!
Considering we saw WICKED! and how I LOVE the WIZARD OF OZ I thought this title fit perfectly!
We had the time of our lives
but we are happy to be home!

I feel overwhelmed with unpacking and back to reality tomorrow, so this will be short and sweet!
A big thank you to all those who lent us some of their precious belongings-
THANK YOU!
A big thanks to my parents for giving us a week with their Marriott!

We took so many fun pictures I haven't even been able to go through them, yet!
I'm going to figure out how to do a slide show of the pictures...

Hi from Escondido!

We made it!!!!!!!

The drive down was so great. The kids were angels!
I don't want to jinx the ride home, but they were really awesome!

So my sweet mom lent me her laptop (thanks mom!) and my plan was to post daily of our trip,
but there is flaw in plan: no wi-fi at our place unless you pay extra, so...
we are visiting Shawn's brother today, hence my post.

I guess all my pictures will have to wait until we get home :(

What we have planned (in a nutshell):
Disneyland Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
American Girl Store, the Grove and Wicked on Thursday
Beach Day Friday
Head home Saturday.

Exciting since it is our kids first time at Disneyland!

Well I gotta go, just wanted to say HI! I'll post again if I can!

"Where were you when the world stopped turning
that September morn?" -Alan Jackson

I was holding baby Lincoln in my arms when my phone rang.
It was my mom.
She asked me if I was watching the news.
She told me to turn on the TV...fast.
I stood in horror watching over and over the tower being attacked.
I was shocked. We all were.

I was in disbelief. I was scared. I was wondering:

What next, are we next?

We were living in our house in Ogden.
I remember so clearly.

I remember the next day
driving down mountain road and there were flags out
everywhere.
I immediately started crying

The rally had begun.

One year later-
I called my mom...
and then my dad...
and my sisters...
and then my brother.

I told them all I loved them.
They asked if I was dying :)

No more putting off tomorrow what I can do today.

Seven years later-

No more putting off tomorrow what I can do today.

my daughter the cat?!

Jensy came home today with this darling cat on her head.
I couldn't resist grabbing the camera and asking her for a smile,
but this is what I get...
posing...
and attitude!

well, I thought it was too cute!
Also, her picture that she colored was chosen to be on the cover
of the book they are making! She was soo excited!
It has been said a time or two that she is a little artiste!

I gotta say, I love ham.

BS!

Big BS!
BLOG SLACKER!
oh well.
A few important events
and one not-so-important one...

j. june lost her first tooth today!
This cool car was right in front of me at a light and so I whipped out my camera and shot a picture.
can you tell why it's so cool? Look close...

This is Jaxon on his first day at U Can Learn! He has a very nice teacher, Sara.

This week I am busy getting ready for our trip to Disneyland on Saturday!
Landon had a soccer game tonight in Ogden, they won 6-2!
Over the weekend, Shawn took Lincoln to the U football game, courtesy of aunt Dood! Thank you so, so much, they had such a ball! (and thanks also for the cool football, Lincoln takes it to school in his backpack and plays with it at recess!)

don't blink...

I used to think that my kids would never be in school all day.
My friend used to tell me
that it would be here before I knew it.
I would think to myself that she was wrong
and it would never happen.
well... she was right and I blinked.

I used to think that one day my child would sit beside me in the car
and they would actually grow out of that car seat
and we would sit together and have real conversations
not the ones with my singsongbabytalk voice.
again, I blinked.

I used to think that one day I would have a daughter and do her hair in the mirror.
Today she looked at herself and said she looked like a teenager.
It's okay she said, I'm not a teenager.
I'm trying not to blink.
