Fighting not to Fall...

I would hate to fall to my death.
That would be a horrific way to die. (hello, stating the obvious, sorry)
You've heard the stories of bungy cords snapping,
or that terrible movie "Cliffhanger" with Sly Styllone,
where she actually falls!
to her death.

so for fun,
today I rode the Sky Coaster.

It's a free fall
from like a thousand feet, or something.
They hoist you up, horizontal. (without warning, BTW)
I was the lucky one who got to pull the rip cord
or what I like to call "the death cord".
When they say "3, 2, 1, FLY", on fly, you pull the cord.
I pulled it.
As your body begins to fall,
your first instinct is
fighting the fall.
But your helpless.
It's going to happen.
I fell.
It's an overwhelming, powerless feeling and a HUGE rush of adrenaline.
It's awesome!

Despite the visions I had (while being hoisted up) of an ambulance, stretcher and waking up in a hospital bed,
I made it.

The worst part: s l o w l y rising up...up....up.
The best part: falling.
Sometimes when we let go of the fight and give in
it pays off in the end.

I love the ending.
For me, worst part: going up up up FACE DOWN! thinking of the children I'm leaving behind motherless.
Best part: Falling and knowing that even though I told you to shut up on the way up there, that you'll still be my friend!

That is such a great post! I am impressed you did that! My Shelby did that last week when we were there! She loved it. All I could think about was how can she watch herself go up, up , up.... and then fall. I would of had to wear a diaper :)

Great title! There is very little to compare to the wave of emotions that go through your body as you do something like that and the adrenaline rush after. Glad you had a fun time with it.
